Software Company Owners: Partnership to Prepare Existing Repositories for AI Labs

We’re looking to partner with owners, founders, or authorized executives of established software development companies to review and prepare existing code repositories for potential licensing or acquisition by AI research organizations and AI labs. This is an opportunity to generate additional revenue from codebases your company owns or is explicitly authorized to represent. We’re particularly interested in companies in Ukraine and Eastern Europe with portfolios of 20 or more substantial repositories, although smaller portfolios may also qualify. This opportunity is for company owners and authorized decision-makers, not individual developers seeking general development work. Repository eligibility Every repository must be either: Fully owned and controlled by your company; or Owned by a client or another rights holder who can provide explicit written authorization for its evaluation, preparation, and potential licensing or acquisition. Documented authorization from the applicable rights holder is required before any repository can be considered. Unauthorized third-party materials will not be accepted, and any confidentiality or contractual restrictions must be addressed before sharing. Scope of work This is intended to be an ongoing paid engagement. Work may include: Creating a structured repository inventory Confirming ownership, usage rights, and relevant contractual restrictions Identifying third-party code, personal data, and confidential information Removing or isolating sensitive materials where appropriate Organizing source code, documentation, tests, and development artifacts Preparing approved repositories for technical and compliance evaluation Coordinating written authorization from clients or other rights holders Compensation Selected partners will be compensated for agreed review and preparation work on eligible repositories. If a repository leads to a completed commercial licensing or acquisition transaction, its owner may also receive additional success-based compensation. The scope, payment structure, and commercial terms will be agreed in writing through Upwork. Preparation and evaluation do not guarantee a licensing or acquisition transaction.
