I have a live WooCommerce store and need three country domains connected to it. This is a configuration job on an existing store, not a rebuild and not a redesign. The homepage, product pages and catalogue are already built and are staying exactly as they are.
What I need
1. Connect three new country TLDs to the existing store
- website/ro
- website/bg
- website/hu
One WordPress install, one WooCommerce backend, one catalogue, one stock pool, one order queue. Each domain serves the store in its own language.
Expected approach is WPML + WooCommerce Multilingual in "a different domain per language" mode. If you would do this differently, tell me why in your proposal.
2. Multicurrency
RON (Romania), HUF (Hungary), EUR (Bulgaria).
Prices set manually per currency, not live FX conversion. I want to control the price in each market.
3. Per-country product visibility toggle
I need to be able to hide an individual product from an individual country when required. Occasional use, one or two products, not a bulk system.
This may come free with WPML's untranslated-product handling. If so, configure it and show me how. If a simple product-level checkbox is cleaner, that works too. The requirement is that I can operate it myself without calling a developer.
4. Payment gateway availability per country
Gateways are installed at the install level, so by default every gateway shows on every domain. I need availability filtered per country: I will give you the map of which gateway appears on which domain, including cash on delivery. Sourcing or configuring the gateways themselves is not part of this job, only the availability logic.
5. Cart behaviour across domains
Cookies are per-domain, so a customer switching domains mid-session will lose their basket by default. I want defined, deliberate behaviour here rather than whatever happens by accident. Tell me in your proposal what you would do and what WooCommerce Multilingual supports natively.
Also in scope
Confirm full-page caching varies by domain and currency. A visitor on .ro must never be served a cached page with the wrong language or currency. This is the main thing I expect to go wrong.
Verify hreflang is correct and reciprocal across all four domains, with .com as x-default. Self-referencing canonicals only, no cross-domain canonicals.
Each domain verified as its own property in Google Search Console.
Language switcher must be crawlable anchor tags, not a JavaScript dropdown, deep-linking to the equivalent page where one exists. No automatic redirect based on IP or Accept-Language.
SSL on all domains, HTTPS forced, no mixed content.
Sitemap and robots.txt per domain.
Work on staging. Nothing touches production until I sign it off.
Code standards
I may migrate to a headless stack in future, so please keep things portable:
No business logic in the theme, use a plugin or a separate code layer
No direct database hacks; custom fields must be readable via the REST/Store API
SKUs stay canonical and unchanged
Restriction rules stored as data (a country list on the product), not hardcoded in PHP
Gateway filtering via woocommerce_available_payment_gateways, driven by config rather than hardcoded conditionals
Not in scope
Content and translation (my team handles it), design changes, tax registration, shipping carrier setup, payment gateway sourcing.
Acceptance criteria
- All four domains serve the store over HTTPS in the correct language
- Each domain shows the correct currency at my manually set price, on product, cart, checkout and order confirmation
- A cached page served to a fresh visitor shows the correct language and currency
- One successful end-to-end test order per domain
- Orders from all four domains appear in a single dashboard
- Stock is shared: a sale on any domain decrements the same stock record
- Only the agreed gateways appear on each domain
- Switching domains with items in the basket produces the agreed behaviour, not an accidental silent empty
- I can hide a product from one country, and unhide it, without developer help
- Hreflang validates reciprocally, no cross-domain canonicals, all four domains verified in Search Console
- Existing .com traffic, rankings, URLs and order flow are unaffected
- Short written handover: how to hide a product, how to change a price per currency, how to change gateway availability, how to add a fourth country later
What I provide
Domains, DNS access, hosting access, staging environment, WPML licence, translated content, the price list per currency, and the gateway-to-country map.
Please answer the screening questions. Proposals without answers will not be reviewed.
