XBH Chat -Senior UI UX designer

Project Overview XBH Chat is a local-first communications platform with two deliberately isolated identities: Public Face: Phone-based communication for contacts, groups, and communities Anonymous Face: XBH ID-based communication with pairwise identifiers, separate devices, and concealed notifications The core principle: One application, two identities, zero accidental crossover Current Key Features (V1) Username/password authentication with secure server sessions Direct text conversations between Public and Anonymous faces Deliberate face switching with encrypted-at-rest message bodies Authorization boundaries, idempotent submission, and client synchronization Installable application shell with no API/message caching Design Challenges 1. Structural Identity Separation Design an interface that clearly demonstrates separation between the two faces Avoid any accidental crossover between data or notifications Seamless user experience when switching between faces 2. Privacy-First Design Anonymous Face interface must minimize disclosure and correlation opportunities Design for concealed notifications by default Clear user experience for per-face consent 3. Degraded Operation Design interfaces that work naturally offline Consistent user experience across different connection states 4. Familiarity vs. Innovation Public Face maintains familiar messaging workflows Anonymous Face offers a unique experience without unnecessary complexity Technical Requirements Current Technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (vanilla), Lucide icons Architecture: Single-page application (SPA) with separate containers for each face Storage: Encrypted-at-rest SQLite Responsiveness: Responsive design for mobile and desktop Synchronization: Offline queue and sync upon connection What We're Looking For Required Skills Experience designing UI/UX for messaging applications Deep understanding of privacy and security design principles Ability to design responsive and intuitive interfaces Experience designing systems with multiple identities or different modes Required Tasks Authentication Interface Enhancement: Design login, registration, phone verification, and XBH ID setup pages Main Chat Interface Enhancement: Design professional chat interface with encryption and typing indicators Call Interface Design: Voice/video call interface with WebRTC Groups and Channels Interface Enhancement: Design interfaces for group chats and channels Attachment Interface Enhancement: Design file sharing and media upload interface Mobile Responsiveness Enhancement: Improve experience on mobile devices Face Switching Animation: Cinematic effects for switching between Public and Anonymous faces Job Title: Senior UX/UI Designer Remote: 6 days a week (Sundays off) Flexible hours : Yes
