Build a Family Productivity App from the Ground Up — React Native (iOS & Android) We've spent months designing and user-testing a family management system that actually works. Now we're ready to build it properly. This isn't a vague idea — we have a fully functional web prototype, defined feature set, tested UX flows, and real pilot families giving us weekly feedback. We need a skilled mobile developer to turn this into a polished, commercial iOS and Android app. About the app Sleep on Sundays is a family operating system — a mobile app that helps families run their week with less chaos. It includes weekly meeting facilitation, meal planning with grocery list generation, task and transportation coordination, chore management with allowance tracking, project management, and more. Think of it as the intersection of a family calendar, a household manager, and a weekly planning tool — built specifically for busy parents. What you'll be building -A full React Native app (iOS + Android) with a clean, modern UI -User authentication and family account management -Real-time data sync via Supabase (backend already set up) -Offline-capable architecture so the app works without internet -Push notifications for tasks, chores, and reminders -A weekly meeting flow — a guided multi-step family planning session -Meal planning with ingredient-based grocery list generation -Chore tracking tied to allowance calculations -In-app purchases or subscription management (TBD) What we bring to the table -A fully working HTML/JS prototype with all features built and tested -Documented user flows and feature logic -An active Supabase backend with meals and ingredients database -Real pilot families testing weekly and providing structured feedback -A clear product vision and an engaged founder who will be responsive Who we're looking for You are a professional mobile developer, not a hobbyist. You take pride in clean code, communicate proactively, and ask good questions before writing a single line. You've shipped real apps that real people use. You're comfortable working with a founder who has strong product opinions and will be hands-on throughout the process. Minimum qualifications -3+ years of React Native development for both iOS and Android -At least 2 published apps in the App Store and Google Play Store (please share links) -Strong experience with Supabase or similar backend-as-a-service (Firebase, PocketBase) -Solid understanding of mobile UX patterns and platform-specific design guidelines (HIG for iOS, Material Design for Android) -Experience integrating push notifications (Expo Notifications or Firebase Cloud Messaging) -Experience with state management (Redux, Zustand, or Context API) -Ability to read and translate existing JavaScript/HTML logic into React Native components -Fluent written English — you will be communicating directly with the founder regularly -Portfolio with source code samples or GitHub profile Nice to have -Experience with subscription billing (RevenueCat, Stripe) -Familiarity with App Store and Google Play submission processes -Experience building offline-first apps with sync -UI/UX sensibility — we want this to look great, not just function correctly Engagement details This starts as a fixed-price milestone project for an MVP, with the intention of a long-term ongoing relationship as the app grows.
