Full stack web developer for a media platform

We are looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer to develop new features and improve existing functionality on our international, multilingual community platform, app.media4change.co, which connects journalists, experts and active citizens. It is essential for you to have experience with the following technologies that our app is developed in: - Symfony 5.4; - Laravel 11; - Nuxt.js/Vue. Experience in API-based development and attention to design details are a must. Mobile-first approach is a default for you. Experience in working with multi-lingual platforms is a big advantage. This is a hands-on position where you will be the primary person responsible for feature implementation. You will work closely with our project manager and designer, and with our DevOps engineer when needed. You will be expected to provide realistic time estimates, stay close to agreed estimates, and deliver within agreed timelines. If a task is estimated at 10 hours, we expect the actual work to be reasonably close to that estimate — not three times higher without a clear and communicated reason. Using AI tools for development is encouraged as a way to improve productivity. However, we expect you to understand and critically evaluate AI-assisted solutions and deliver clean, maintainable code. We are looking to start the collaboration effectively, so availability of only a few hours per week is not sufficient. We need someone who can dedicate enough time to make consistent progress and respond to tasks in a timely manner. We are also looking for someone who can contribute to technical decisions — identify potential problems, discuss trade-offs and recommend practical solutions based on the project's goals, timeline and budget. Experience in API-based development and pixel-precise implementation of Figma designs is a must. You should have a strong eye for UI/UX details, spacing, responsive behaviour, animations and frontend interactions. A mobile-first approach is a default for you. As part of the next stage of platform development, you will be working on: - AI integration for our document repository, including summaries, tagging and semantic search; - Internal messaging, thematic (Discord-like) channels and (LinkedIn-style) connections system; - User referral functionality; - New features integrated with our existing gamification system; - Improvements, fixes and ongoing development of existing functionality. Experience building or integrating community, messaging, AI or gamification features (points, levels, badges, engagement tracking, etc.) is a strong advantage.
