Instagram Growth Specialist -- Christian Prayer App (Ongoing)

ABOUT THE ROLE We're building the Instagram presence for our prayer journal app for iOS that helps people build a consistent prayer life: writing prayers, tracking answered ones, and staying rooted in scripture. The account is new. You'll build it from zero and own it end to end — content, posting, community, growth. This is ongoing work, not a one-off project. Expect roughly 12–15 hours per week. WEEKLY DELIVERABLES (MINIMUM) The cadence shifts once there's an audience to retain. Month one is weighted toward Reels. Month 1 (launch): - Reels: 4–5 per week - Feed posts: 2 per week - Stories: 3 days per week, 2–3 per day Month 2 onward: - Reels: 3 per week - Feed posts: 3 per week - Stories: 5 days per week, 2–3 per day Every week, both phases: - 100% of comments and DMs answered within 24 hours - 30–50 proactive engagements per day on relevant accounts - One written report: what you posted, what performed, what changes next week CONTENT STANDARDS - Value first. Roughly 80% of content should be useful, encouraging, or moving on its own, with no app mention needed. The remaining ~20% may show the app, as the natural answer to a need the content already established. We are not making ads. - Original. If a competitor could publish the same Reel with their logo swapped in, it isn't what we're paying for. - Hook in the first 3 seconds of every Reel. - Maximum 5 hashtags per post. We optimize for saves and shares, not hashtag reach. - No reposted or watermarked content from other platforms. CONTENT DIRECTIONS WE'RE INTERESTED IN You'll shape these, not just execute them. - Prayer prompts and guided prayers for specific situations - Short scripture reflections - Practical: how to pray when you're distracted, discouraged, out of words, or out of habit - Encouragement around answered prayer, drawn from scripture and general themes — never from user content (see below) - Building a daily habit that lasts WHAT YOU'LL HANDLE IN DMS AND COMMENTS People will send prayer requests and share personal circumstances. You won't be counseling anyone. You respond with warmth, acknowledge what they've shared, and use the response templates we provide at onboarding. Anything serious — including any disclosure of self-harm or crisis — gets escalated to us immediately rather than answered. Comments occasionally include hostility toward faith. We'll give you clear guidance on what to delete, what to answer, and what to escalate. Genuine questions and doubts get a warm reply, not deletion. REQUIREMENTS - Fluent written English. You'll be speaking as our brand in comments and DMs. - Portfolio: at least one Instagram account you grew from zero or near-zero, with before and after numbers. - Reels editing (CapCut, Premiere, or equivalent). We supply brand assets, app screenshots, logo, and full app access; you create the video content. - Working knowledge of the Bible. Every scripture reference must be verified against the text before publishing — accuracy matters deeply to our audience. - An iPhone (iOS 16+) you can install and use the app on. We provide free full access via TestFlight — no purchase required. You'll use it regularly, and the content should reflect real familiarity with it. - Comfortable with Meta Business Suite. - Available for a weekly 20-minute check-in call. Preferred: content experience with faith-based brands, ministries, or Christian publishers; motion graphics; short-form hook writing. A FEW THINGS UPFRONT - No purchased followers, likes, or engagement, and no bots or engagement pods. Hard requirement — we'd rather grow slowly and honestly. - Our users share deeply personal things. Nothing a user writes to us — in a DM, a comment, or the app — is ever republished as content, even anonymized. - All content is work-for-hire, owned by us, with source files delivered. - Access is granted through Meta Business Portfolio using your own login. We never ask for or share passwords. TERMS $800/month, fixed price, milestone-based. Two-week paid trial milestone of $400 first, then monthly ongoing if it's working for both of us. $800 is our starting point, not a ceiling. We don't ask for free work. Shortlisted candidates get a paid $35 sample task before we discuss the trial.
