Title: Technical Writer & Editor – Update NanoSkin Wood Coatings Technical Guide and Testing Documentation Project Description We are seeking an experienced technical writer with a strong background in construction materials, wood science, coatings, building products, or industrial manufacturing to update and enhance an existing technical guide for NanoSkin, an advanced wood and mass timber protection technology. The guide was originally developed approximately one year ago and now requires a comprehensive update to reflect new product information, expanded application guidance, recent laboratory testing, and independently verified performance data. The successful freelancer will work from existing technical documentation, testing reports, product data sheets, and supporting materials to create a polished, professional, and technically accurate guide suitable for mass timber manufacturers, architects, engineers, consultants, general contractors, and building owners. Scope of Work Phase 1: Technical Guide Review & Update Review the existing NanoSkin Technical Guide. Edit and improve content for clarity, readability, technical accuracy, and consistency. Update outdated information, product descriptions, and application recommendations. Improve document organization and flow where appropriate. Ensure content is suitable for both technical and commercial audiences. Verify consistency of terminology, units, specifications, and technical claims throughout the document. Phase 2: New Testing & Performance Section Create a comprehensive new section dedicated to recent laboratory testing and performance validation. This section will include: QUV accelerated weathering test results. Third-party laboratory testing summaries. Water repellency and hydrophobicity performance data. Comparative performance assessments. Testing methodologies and standards where applicable. Technical interpretation of results for specifiers and mass timber manufacturers. Visual presentation of testing data through charts, tables, graphs, and technical summaries. The writer will be expected to transform raw testing data into concise, professional, and scientifically credible content appropriate for inclusion in a product technical guide. Phase 3: Design & Formatting Recommendations Improve the overall professionalism and presentation of the document. Recommend improved layouts for technical data, diagrams, and performance results. Create publication-ready formatting in Word or similar editable format. Prepare content that can later be converted into a PDF technical guide. Deliverables Fully revised NanoSkin Technical Guide.
