WordPress Developer — Custom ACF Theme Edits

We have an existing custom-coded WordPress site (www.bfg.law) built on a custom theme using ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) for content and Gravity Forms for forms. There is no page builder. Elementor was never part of this build, and we do not want it added to existing pages. The site looks and performs exactly how we want it. We are not looking for a redesign or a rebuild. We need a developer who is comfortable working inside a custom PHP and ACF theme to make targeted updates, and to expand what our marketing team can edit on their own going forward. Scope of work: Content and image updates on existing pages (headlines, body copy, photos). Some of these already have ACF fields; others appear to be hardcoded in template-part PHP. Register new ACF fields, ideally Flexible Content, for the hardcoded sections we update most often, so future text and image changes can be made from the WordPress dashboard without a developer. Minor typographic and layout adjustments on the homepage, specifically font sizing and alignment on a few headings that currently require code edits. Build out one homepage section (a services widget) to match the existing design system. A short written handoff explaining which sections are now ACF-editable and how to edit them, written for a non-technical marketing team. Requirements: Strong PHP and ACF experience in custom, non-builder WordPress themes Comfortable working in a staging environment with backups and version control. No live edits through the dashboard theme editor. Able to match an existing design system rather than impose a new one Clear written English communication Nice to have: Gravity Forms experience, and familiarity with WordPress performance and Core Web Vitals. This starts as a defined project, but we expect ongoing small-scope work and would prefer someone available for occasional hourly follow-ups.
