WordPress / Full-Stack Developer Needed for Event Submission & Approval MVP - German Market

I’m looking for an experienced WordPress / full-stack developer to transform an existing website into a curated event listing and booking platform for the German market. The work includes: - building a clean, user-friendly interface - improving the booking flow - ensuring the platform is easy to manage for ongoing updates. You should be comfortable working with an existing site, adding new functionality, and helping create a polished experience for users and administrators. Depending on the quality of the work, communication and strategic fit, I could also imagine a longer-term partnership, part-time/full-time role or potential involvement in the company at a later stage. ________ DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION The main goal is to build a clean provider submission and approval workflow: * providers create an account * providers submit events through a structured form * submitted events are saved as pending * our team reviews, edits, approves or rejects submissions * approved events automatically appear in a public event feed * each approved event has its own detail page * users can browse, filter and search events, including by date The solution should be built on top of the existing WordPress website and should be scalable for future development. I prefer a clean setup using custom post types, custom fields, user roles and ideally a custom plugin or well-structured custom development. I do not want a messy setup with too many plugins. Important requirements: * provider account creation * structured frontend event submission form * admin approval workflow * public event feed * event detail pages * filters by category, location and date * mobile-friendly layout * basic SEO structure * basic email notifications * clean and documented code * GDPR-conscious development for the German/EU market * no hardcoded content * no unnecessary external scripts or dependencies * future-ready structure for booking, payments, provider dashboard and possible app connection later I already have: * an existing WordPress website * a Figma prototype showing the long-term target vision * brand/design direction * content structure The Figma prototype is only a reference for the future vision.
