AI/ML Engineer – Automation & AI-Powered Workflow Development

I’m looking for an experienced AI/ML Engineer with strong automation and workflow development skills to help design and build AI-powered systems that can automate repetitive tasks, streamline workflows, and improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate should be able to look at an existing process, identify opportunities for automation, and recommend practical AI/ML solutions rather than simply building based on a fixed specification. What You’ll Do Analyse existing workflows and identify tasks suitable for AI/automation. Design and build automated workflows using AI/ML technologies. Integrate AI models and APIs into practical business processes. Build systems that can handle data collection, processing, classification, extraction, analysis, and decision-making. Connect different platforms, applications, APIs, and databases. Develop AI agents or intelligent workflows where appropriate. Automate repetitive administrative and operational processes. Build reliable error-handling, monitoring, and logging systems. Test, troubleshoot, and optimise automations. Document the systems so they can be maintained and expanded. Recommend tools, technologies, and architecture that provide the best balance of functionality, reliability, and cost. Skills & Experience Required: Proven experience in AI/ML engineering. Strong Python skills. Experience working with OpenAI or other LLM APIs. Experience building AI-powered automations and workflows. Strong API integration and data-processing skills. Experience with automation platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar. Experience working with databases and structured/unstructured data. Understanding of prompt engineering, LLM workflows, and AI agents. Ability to work independently and solve problems creatively. Strong understanding of software development best practices. Nice to Have: Experience with RAG systems and vector databases. Experience building AI agents and multi-step workflows. Experience with webhooks and third-party API integrations. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure. Experience with OCR/document processing. Experience integrating CRMs, email platforms, Google Workspace, social media platforms, or business-management systems. Experience deploying and maintaining production AI systems. What I’m Looking For I’m not looking for someone who simply follows instructions or connects a few Zapier steps. I’m looking for someone who can think strategically about automation: Understand the process → identify what can be automated → design the solution → build it → test it → improve it. You should be comfortable saying, “There’s a better way to do this,” and explaining why.
