Cloud Engineer

Role Summary: As a Cloud Engineer, you will design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You'll work with security, development, and operations teams to automate deployments, enforce compliance, and optimize cloud costs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across cloud platforms, infrastructure security, and cloud-native technologies, ensuring secure and scalable enterprise systems. Key Responsibilities: ● Configure, harden, and secure deployments across cloud and cloud-native environments, enforcing best practices for access, networking, and secrets management. ● Build and maintain monitoring and observability across systems — metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting — to ensure reliability, performance, and rapid incident response. ● Plan and execute infrastructure migrations and upgrades with minimal disruption, including cloud platform moves, version upgrades, and modernization initiatives. ● Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code to provision and manage environments in a repeatable, auditable, and scalable way. ● Design, build, and maintain foundational internal platforms that empower software developers. ● Standardize, maintain, and optimize continuous integration and deployment workflows using platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD. ● Partner with Engineeringand Product teams to embed security and reliability early in the SDLC and influence architecture decisions. ● Integrate LLM development companions into engineering and infrastructure workflows to improve productivity and code quality. ● Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity. ● Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary. ● Periodically evaluate systems and offer suggestions for performance enhancements. Required Qualifications: ● Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field. ● 3 - 5 years of experience in cloud engineering and information technology security. ● Experience as a hands-on technology leader in a highly technical environment. ● Must be willing to work outside normal business hours (as needed) for urgent security related issues. ● Hands-on, in-depth experience with AWS. ● Deep, hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and Terragrunt). ● Experience with container orchestration security, including Kubernetes, service mesh, and serverless architectures. ● Hands-on experience with Cloudflare (WAF, CDN, DNS, Zero Trust). ● Expert understanding of application, network, operating system, and core infrastructure security concepts and concerns. ● Hands-on experience integrating and operating LLM development companions (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) into engineering and infrastructure workflows. ● Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language; Python preferred. Preferred Qualifications: ● Familiarity with AWS, GCP or Azure ● Experience with other CDN/edge security platforms is a plus.
