Full-Stack Developer for UK EdTech Learning Platform
I am looking for a full-stack developer to help build the next stage of Teachers That Tutor, an existing UK education business.
We currently have an established website and a YouTube channel with 7,000+ subscribers, which will provide an existing audience for launching and testing the new platform.
What I want to build
I want to transform Teachers That Tutor into a modern, subscription-based educational web application for UK primary pupils and their parents.
The initial MVP will focus mainly on Years 3–6, with particular emphasis on Year 6 SATs.
The platform will have seven main areas:
Dashboard – overview of a child's learning, activity and recommended next steps
Learn – curriculum content organised by Year → Subject → Topic → Lesson
Practice – teacher-written interactive questions with automatic marking and explanations
Studio – searchable educational video library linked to curriculum topics
Insights – progress tracking and parent-friendly learning analytics
Ask TTT – AI-powered educational support and personalised practice
Papers – SATs papers, mark schemes and other assessment resources
Parents should be able to create an account, add child profiles and monitor their children's learning and progress.
What I need from you
I am looking for someone capable of helping develop the platform from MVP through to a functioning subscription product.
Relevant experience would include:
React / Next.js
TypeScript / JavaScript
Node.js or similar backend technology
Database design
User authentication
API integration
Stripe/subscription payments
AI API integration
Responsive web applications
SaaS/dashboard development
Secure handling of user data
I am open to your recommendations regarding the exact technology stack.
Content Management
An important requirement is that I can manage the educational content myself.
I need an admin/CMS area that eventually allows me to add and edit:
Year groups and subjects
Curriculum topics
Lessons
Questions and answers
Teacher explanations
Videos
Practice sets
SATs/resources
I do not want routine educational content updates to require developer involvement.
How I want to build it
I do not want the entire platform built at once.
My preference is to develop an MVP incrementally through clearly defined milestones.
For example:
Stage 1: User accounts, child profiles, curriculum structure and dashboard
Stage 2: Learn and Studio
Stage 3: Question database, Practice and automatic marking
Stage 4: Progress tracking and Insights
Stage 5: Ask TTT / AI integration
Stage 6: Subscriptions and further development
The exact order can be discussed with the successful developer.
My initial development budget is approximately £1,000 per month, and I am looking for an ongoing relationship of 6+ months rather than a one-off website build.
If the platform gains traction, I would expect development to continue and the scope/budget to grow accordingly.
About me
I will provide the educational and product expertise, including:
UK primary curriculum knowledge
Educational content
Questions and answers
Video content
Product direction
User testing
Existing audience for beta testing and marketing
I am therefore looking for someone who can bring the technical/product development expertise to complement this.
Good communication is extremely important to me.
I would like someone who is happy to discuss ideas, suggest better technical solutions where appropriate, explain technical decisions clearly and build the product collaboratively.
When applying
Please include:
A brief introduction.
Examples of SaaS/web applications you have personally built.
Your experience with React/Next.js or similar technologies.
Any experience with Stripe subscriptions.
Any experience integrating AI/LLM APIs.
Your recommended technology stack for this project.
Your hourly rate and approximate availability each month.
What you think should be included in the first MVP milestone.
Any initial concerns or suggestions about the proposed platform.
Please don't send a generic proposal. I am particularly interested in hearing how you would approach this specific product.
Ownership
The successful developer must be comfortable with the Teachers That Tutor business retaining ownership and administrative access to the source code/repository, hosting, database, domain, payment accounts and other core infrastructure.
I am looking for the right developer to potentially work with Teachers That Tutor for the long term rather than simply someone to build a website and move on. (please see image attached of the platform dashboard concept).
