Full-Stack Developer — Website Redesign & Digital Commerce Platform (Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript)

I'm looking for a full-stack developer to redesign my website and turn it into a functional digital commerce platform. The current site is just a basic brochure-style presence; I want a modern, mobile-first, professional platform that reflects my brand and lets clients browse products, request custom orders, and pay online. What I Need • A modern, responsive redesign — clean, professional, works well on phones • A product catalog where clients can pick specs/variants before placing an order • A secure portal for clients/distributors to check order history, invoices, and order status • Stripe and PayPal so customers can pay securely online • Automatic PDF invoices generated at checkout, with tax calculated correctly • A dashboard where I can manage products, orders, and customer accounts myself without needing a developer for every small change — I'd rather this be built specifically for how my business works than run on some generic plugin • Within that dashboard, I'd like clear visual reporting on sales — trends over time, best- selling products, revenue by category — and it needs to stay fast and accurate even as the order history grows, not slow down over time • Different staff should have different access levels (e.g., someone handling orders shouldn't necessarily see financial reports), so proper login security and permission levels matter — customers and staff should each only be able to see and do what they're supposed to • I want the shopping experience to feel a bit smarter than a plain product list — showing customers things they're more likely to actually want, rather than just a flat catalog. Open to your suggestions on the best way to approach this. • Everything needs to talk to my internal inventory system through an API, so stock levels and orders stay accurate on both sides • Fast loading and decent SEO, since a lot of my current traffic comes from search Required Skills • Next.js, TypeScript • Node.js (Express or NestJS) • PostgreSQL, with experience keeping queries fast and well-indexed as data grows • Building and integrating REST APIs and webhooks • Stripe/PayPal integration, done securely • Solid experience with secure logins and permission systems (JWT, OAuth, role-based access) • Responsive design with Tailwind CSS • Comfortable with data visualization (charts/graphs for reporting) • Real experience running production apps, not just personal projects • Comfortable with Git, and ideally some experience with Docker and setting up a smooth deployment process Nice to Have • Experience personalizing or improving product discovery on ecommerce sites • Experience building invoicing/PDF generation systems • Experience building SDKs or integrations for third-party partners/merchants to plug into your systems If you've built online stores with real payment processing, solid reporting/dashboards, and proper access control before — and have ideas on making product discovery feel smarter — I'd love to hear from you.
