Full-Stack Developer

We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer to join us on an ongoing software development project. The ideal candidate should be capable of understanding an existing HTML-based UI/prototype, converting it into a production-ready web application, and developing robust backend APIs, database architecture and mobile applications. The project is an Insurance Management / Insurance Broker Platform involving customers, leads, policies, claims, renewals, commissions, RMs/POSPs, insurers, reports and business analytics. This is an opportunity for a developer who wants to work on a long-term engagement with the potential to become a full-time position based on performance and mutual fit. Preference will be given to candidates based in Ethiopia. Key Responsibilities Convert existing HTML/UI designs into responsive, production-ready frontend screens. Develop frontend applications using React.js. Develop backend services and REST APIs using Python / Django / Django REST Framework. Design and implement database structures using PostgreSQL. Develop and maintain mobile applications for the platform. Integrate web and mobile applications with backend APIs. Implement authentication, authorization and role-based access control. Develop dashboards with KPIs, charts, tables, filters and drill-down functionality. Develop modules for: Lead/Enquiry Management Customer Management Insurance Policies Claims Renewals Insurance Products Insurer Management RM/POSP Management Commission Management Invoice Management Reports Administration Implement search, filtering, sorting, pagination and export functionality. Build data-driven dashboards and reporting. Ensure proper validation, error handling, logging and security. Optimize database queries and API performance. Write clean, reusable and maintainable code. Work closely with the project manager/product team to understand requirements and deliver modules independently. Mobile Application Development The selected developer may also be responsible for developing and maintaining the mobile application associated with the platform. Experience with any of the following is preferred: React Native Flutter Android/iOS development Mobile API integration Push notifications Mobile authentication Responsive mobile UX Experience with React Native will be an advantage because of the React-based web architecture. You should be comfortable working with an existing UI rather than recreating the design from scratch. You will be expected to understand the existing screens, identify the required data and workflows, and convert them into a fully functional application. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Has 3+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience. Has strong experience with React, Python/Django and PostgreSQL. Can independently develop both frontend and backend. Has experience with mobile application development or is willing to contribute to the mobile application. Can work independently with minimal supervision. Can understand business requirements and translate them into technical implementation. Has strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Writes structured and maintainable code. Understands database architecture rather than simply creating APIs. Can take responsibility for complete modules. Is comfortable working with an existing codebase. Communicates clearly and provides regular progress updates. Location Preference Candidates based in Ethiopia are preferred, particularly developers who can commit to a long-term engagement and work closely with our team. However, strong candidates from other locations may also be considered.
