Hi, I need some help with an upcoming streaming presentation
I don't have any audio experience at all and I'm learning this all from scratch. I need professional help to get a good setup so I can then concentrate on the presentation. Just to clarify I don't need help with the presentation itself, I need help with the setup and making it look professional. I live way out in a rural area, and the nearest airport is 3 hours drive away, so physically getting someone on site is out of the question as I'd have to put them up in hotel for at least 2-3 days. Doing it remotely is the only practical way.
I have a bit of money to get any new stuff but I’ve already spent a fair bit on equipment, and I need to know how to better use what I've already got rather than just getting new stuff.
Current setup:
My microphone is an AT2020USB plugged into my pc.
My camera is a Sony ZV1.
I have 3 tripods, 2 large and 1 small.
I am using OBS software.
Due to time zone difference I’ll have to do it at night so ambient sound wont be a problem.
The people I’m talking to are from a pretty loud culture and they’re kind of boisterous, so you have to talk loudly to be heard, plus there may be a bit of loud laughing, which is why I have made a home made pop filter out of nylon stockings and metal wire. The room has floorboards and bare walls, so I’ve strung up a bunch of moving rugs on the walls and floor when recording to address room echo. I’ve also got a thick fabric sheet that I will lay across the desk to put the microphone on top of to prevent vibrations. I’ve also positioned some shelves behind me for the clutter to break up the sound rebounds.
I will be sitting down at a desk, but will sometimes need to stand up and illustrate some things next to a white board, so having a second variation on the setup will also be needed (one for sitting at the desk, another for standing up next to the white board).
I want to send you a test video with me talking loud/quiet and sitting/standing, and you can correct reverb, sync with video, noise gate and other technical things that I'm not proficient with. Its for a sales presentation so tonality and clarity, clarity, reverb from the walls and floor, in sync with video, no issues with loud (even yelling) speaking, etc are important. Then a second video review for any further changes. I'm happy to pay 50 per hour for 2 hours, (1 hour for each video review).
Thanks. Look forward to working with you. Matt.
