Senior Full-Stack Developer — AI-Assisted Development & Internal Tools

We’re looking for a senior full-stack developer with strong, hands-on experience using AI coding agents to help build, improve, and maintain business systems. We are an e-commerce business with Shopify integrations, a custom CRM/SRM, and internal tools supporting our sales, suppliers, orders, and staff. Our founders actively develop with AI, and we’re looking for someone who can collaborate on ideas and take responsibility for implementation, testing, and ongoing reliability. This is a long-term remote opportunity for approximately 40 hours per week at $15–$50 USD/hour, depending on experience. International applicants are welcome. What you’ll work on - Improve and maintain existing applications and integrations. - Build new features from business requirements. - Use AI coding agents to support development, debugging, testing, and documentation. - Investigate issues across interfaces, backend services, APIs, and databases. - Test complete workflows and verify that changes work correctly. - Recommend improvements and make sensible technical decisions independently. - Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and unresolved issues clearly. What we’re looking for Daily collaboration with the founders! - You’ll communicate directly with the founders each working day to brainstorm ideas, identify opportunities, discuss priorities, and shape new features and business tools. We want someone who actively contributes ideas, asks thoughtful questions, and helps us decide what is worth building. You should be comfortable turning an early-stage idea into a practical recommendation, explaining the tradeoffs, and carrying the agreed direction through development and testing. Daily check-ins and brainstorming will take place within agreed working hours, with overlap with U.S. Eastern time. - Experience building and maintaining applications used by real customers or teams. - Regular use of tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or comparable AI coding agents. - The ability to understand, review, and troubleshoot AI-generated code. - Strong full-stack development skills, including APIs, databases, authentication, and integrations. - Comfort working in an existing codebase and following its conventions. - Relevant experience with Python, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Git, and Shopify. - Clear communication and reliable availability, with some overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours. For each, explain what it does, your specific contribution, and whether you maintained it after launch. 2. How you used AI during development. Name the tools you used and explain what the AI handled, what you personally reviewed or implemented, and how you verified the result. 3. One example of a difficult issue you solved. Briefly explain the problem, how you investigated it, and how you confirmed the fix. An example involving incorrect AI-generated code would be especially relevant. 4. Your experience taking over existing applications. Describe how you learn an unfamiliar system and begin making changes. 5. Your hourly rate, time zone, available weekly hours, and earliest start date. If your previous work is confidential, sanitized screenshots, a permitted walkthrough, or a clear description of your contribution are welcome. Share only material you have permission to disclose. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a conversation and a small paid technical assessment using AI tools.
