AI Full-Stack Developer / Automation Engineer - Philippines Only For upcoming launch of DTC Beauty product We are a U.S.-based company looking for a highly capable **AI Full-Stack Developer / Automation Engineer based in the Philippines**. This is intended to begin as a **paid trial project**, with the potential to become a long-term, ongoing position for the right person. ## First Project: AI Applicant Review System When we post jobs online, we may receive hundreds or thousands of applications. We want to build an internal web application that uses AI to help our team review and organize applicants much more efficiently. For the initial version, the system should allow us to: * Upload batches of resumes (PDF/DOCX) * Paste or enter a job description * Define job-specific evaluation criteria * Extract and structure information from resumes * Analyze applicants using an LLM such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or another appropriate model * Generate concise candidate summaries * Identify relevant experience, skills, and qualifications * Highlight potential concerns or missing qualifications * Explain the reasoning behind each assessment using information found in the resume * Rank/sort candidates based on job-related criteria * Search and filter applicants * Display candidates in a simple, easy-to-use dashboard * Export results if needed The system is intended to **assist our team with applicant review**. Final hiring and rejection decisions will be made by people. We are NOT looking to scrape LinkedIn. The application should initially work from resumes/applicant data that we upload or export ourselves. ## Initial Paid Project Our Upwork budget is for an **initial working prototype**, not necessarily the complete final production platform. A successful prototype should demonstrate the core workflow, for example: **Job Description + 10–50 Sample Resumes → AI Analysis → Ranked/Organized Candidate Review Dashboard** We will provide sample resumes for development/testing. If the prototype is successful, we expect to continue developing the platform with the same developer. ## Technology We are **not committed to a specific technology stack**. Part of what we are hiring you for is your ability to recommend an appropriate architecture. Possible technologies may include: * Python * Node.js / TypeScript * React / Next.js * PostgreSQL / Supabase * OpenAI API * Anthropic / Claude API * Google Gemini / Vertex AI * Vercel * AWS * Google Cloud We care more about creating a reliable, maintainable solution than using any particular technology. ## AI-Assisted Development Is Encouraged We WANT a developer who effectively uses modern AI coding tools such as: * Claude Code * Cursor * ChatGPT * GitHub Copilot * Gemini * Similar AI development tools We are not concerned if AI helps you write code faster. However, you must understand the code you produce, be able to troubleshoot it, make sound architecture decisions, and deliver reliable software. ## What We're Looking For We want someone who can be given a business problem and independently figure out how to turn it into working software. Strong candidates should have experience with: * Full-stack web application development * AI / LLM API integrations * API development and integration * Document/PDF processing * Databases * Authentication and basic application security * Cloud deployment * Git / GitHub * Building usable internal tools or SaaS applications You should also be able to explain technical decisions clearly to a non-technical business owner. ## IMPORTANT: Ownership & Development Accounts For the production system: * Source code must be stored in a GitHub repository controlled by our company * Cloud infrastructure and production accounts will be owned by our company * API accounts/keys will ultimately be controlled by our company * Database and hosting accounts will be controlled by our company * We will provide appropriate developer access We are happy to work with you on setting these accounts up. We are specifically looking for someone who can guide us through the technical setup. ## Long-Term Opportunity This is not intended to be a one-time project. If you perform well on this project, we want someone who can become our **go-to developer for AI, automation, and internal software projects**.
