Contract Python / Database Engineer

What You'll Work On Your work will include: Build reusable Python components that support the broader platform. Design and implement data structures for rights, permissions, usage history, and related metadata. Build validation and detection logic that identifies incorrect, incomplete, or inconsistent data. Design database schemas, queries, relationships, and data-layer functionality. Establish or improve source control and automated testing for designated development work. Build a practice environment using sample data so new functionality can be developed and tested without requiring access to client data. Help establish separated development environments and supporting engineering workflows. Build development infrastructure and tooling that other engineers can reliably work against. Write maintainable, well-tested, documented code. Surface technical risks, ambiguities, and implementation decisions to the CTO before they become blockers. As the engagement progresses, the role may also support tactical clarification of data or access issues while larger client commitments and architectural decisions remain with the CTO. Initial Priorities Early work is expected to focus on establishing the engineering foundation needed for additional contributors to work effectively, including: Source control and automated testing. A practice environment with representative sample data. A separated development environment. Shared Python and database components supporting the emerging platform. Data structures and validation logic that support STR3AMCORE's catalog-cleaning and rights-management workflows. This initial work is deliberately self-contained
