About the project
I’m building About2Win, a gamified football development platform for young players.
A simple way to describe the vision is:
Duolingo-style progression meets Clash Royale-style competition, but for real-world football practice.
The goal is not to keep children on their phones. The app should motivate them to go outside, practise football, improve, prove what they have done, unlock rewards and compete with other players.
Duolingo and Clash Royale are references for the quality of the game loop, progression, rewards, clarity and polish. I do not want to copy either product visually. About2Win needs its own premium football identity and design system.
What already exists
This is not starting from zero.
I already have an existing platform built with Next.js, TypeScript, Supabase/Postgres, including player accounts, Challenge Arena development, streak functionality, video uploads and other foundations.
I also already operate a real football development programme called The Juggling Code, which gives us a proven starting point for the programme/progression side.
I am now looking to turn these foundations into one professionally designed and connected product.
The player experience
There are several core systems that need to work together.
1. Home
Every player should have a personalised Home screen showing exactly what they should do today based on what they have access to.
This could include:
today’s training
active programme/journey
live Challenge
streak
XP and player level
next reward/unlock
achievements
recent progress
The player should instantly understand:
What should I do today? What will I earn? What am I close to unlocking?
2. Journeys / Programmes
Players can access different football development journeys such as:
The Juggling Code
Ball Mastery
Weak Foot
U7/U8/U9 development programmes
future specialist programmes
A programme can contain:
Worlds → Levels → Exercises → Milestones → Unlocks → Proof
This should feel much closer to progressing through a game than opening a traditional library of football videos.
Players may have access to multiple journeys at the same time and have separate progression through each.
3. Challenge Arena
Alongside structured development is the competitive side of About2Win.
Coaches should be able to create and schedule challenges whenever required, including:
weekly challenges
monthly competitions
seasonal competitions
special events
Challenges can include:
practice days
tickets / ticket pieces
video proof
qualification
leaderboards
finals
winners
prizes
This is where the Clash Royale-style inspiration becomes relevant: players should feel that something is happening now and that they want to participate, progress and compete.
4. One connected gamification system
Underneath everything should be a strong progression/reward system.
Potential elements include:
one overall practice streak
XP
player levels/ranks
badges
collectibles
achievements
personal bests
verified video proof
unlockable content/rewards
longer-term progression
The most important principle is:
One real-world football activity can progress several systems at the same time.
For example, completing one 10-minute Ball Mastery session could:
complete today’s practice
continue the player’s streak
award XP
complete a programme level
unlock the next level
progress the current Challenge
move them closer to an achievement/reward
The systems must therefore be designed together rather than as separate features.
The end result should make a player think:
“I’m only 100 XP from my next level.”
“I need one more Ticket piece.”
“I don’t want to lose my streak.”
“I’m close to unlocking this reward.”
And the behaviour we create from that is:
The player goes outside and practises football.
5. Video proof
Video uploads are an important part of the product.
I do not want proof to feel like boring administration.
Players should want to upload videos because it makes an achievement official.
For example:
New juggling PB: 83
Upload your video to verify it.
Once verified, it could update their PB, profile, XP, achievement progress or Challenge result.
Coach / Academy platform
There is also a coach/academy side.
Football clubs and academies should eventually be able to purchase About2Win and use it with their own players.
They should be able to:
create players and squads
assign programmes
use existing About2Win programmes
build their own programmes
create Challenges
schedule activities
review video proof
verify achievements
see who is practising outside team training
track programme completion
view streaks and engagement
view individual player development history
Programme Builder / Content Library
Exercises should exist in a reusable library.
Coaches/About2Win can then use them to build:
Exercises → Levels → Worlds → Programmes
This means an academy could build its own U9 programme, while another academy could use an off-the-shelf About2Win Ball Mastery programme.
Design is a major part of this project
I am not simply looking for backend development.
I need the product to be professionally designed in Figma before/alongside implementation.
The full ecosystem should feel like one About2Win product:
player mobile experience
academy/coach dashboard
Challenge Arena
journeys
player profile
rewards/collectibles
programme builder
landing pages/website
This includes:
UX and user flows
Figma UI design
responsive design
reusable design system
visual identity throughout the product
interactions and micro-animations
gamification/reward presentation
implementation in the existing product
The player experience should feel premium, exciting and game-inspired rather than like a standard fitness/coaching SaaS product.
The academy dashboard can be more functional and data-focused while still clearly belonging to the same brand.
Website / Landing Pages
The project should also include a professionally designed public-facing website/landing pages using the same visual language.
The website needs to clearly communicate and sell About2Win to:
1. Parents / individual players
and
2. Football academies / clubs
The app, academy platform and website should feel like parts of one coherent brand.
Current technology
The existing platform uses:
Next.js
React
TypeScript
Supabase
PostgreSQL
Who I’m looking for
I’m interested in people who can understand the complete product, not simply execute individual screens.
The biggest challenge is making:
Programmes + Challenges + Daily Practice + XP + Streaks + Rewards + Proof + Academy Management
work together as one scalable system.
Strong product thinking is therefore just as important as writing code.
The current fixed budget is $6,000 for the first phase.
I understand that the entire long-term About2Win vision may be larger than one phase. I would like you to review what already exists, understand the vision and propose what can realistically be designed and developed to a high standard within this first phase.
Please also explain how you would structure the following phases rather than trying to force the entire long-term vision into the initial budget.
When applying
Please send:
examples of products you have designed and/or developed
relevant Figma work
examples of polished mobile experiences
relevant dashboard/SaaS work
Next.js/Supabase experience
any gamification, fitness, sports or education product experience
who would be responsible for product/UI design and development
how you would approach reviewing and building on an existing codebase
what you believe is realistically achievable within the first $6,000 phase
Please avoid generic proposals. I’m particularly interested in how you understand the product loop and how you would approach making the different systems work together.
