Odoo 17 Custom Module - Sales Order Approval Workflow

We run Odoo 17 (Community) for our sales operations and need a small custom module to add an approval step on high-value sales orders. Right now any salesperson can confirm an order of any size, and we need a control in place before it goes to the warehouse. When a sales order is confirmed, the system should check the order total against a threshold we can configure ourselves in Settings. Below the threshold, the order confirms as normal. At or above it, the order moves to an "Awaiting Approval" state and needs sign-off from our Sales Manager before proceeding. Requirements: 1. Threshold amount and the approver group configurable from Sales - Configuration - Settings (not hardcoded), per company 2. Approval stage visible in the sales order status bar 3. Approve / Reject buttons on the order form, visible only to the approver group. Reject returns the order to draft and requires a reason 4. Every approval, rejection and reason logged in the order chatter with user and timestamp 5. A salesperson cannot approve their own order, and cannot bypass the workflow by editing the state directly Standard Odoo follower notifications are fine for alerting the approver - no custom email templates needed. Deliverables: - Installable Odoo 17 module, self-contained, no changes to core files - Source as a zip or Git repo - Short setup note (install, configure, assign the approver group) - One round of fixes after testing on our staging instance Freelancer should have: - Odoo 17 custom module development experience - Comfortable with sale.order workflow, security groups and record rules - Follows Odoo conventions so the module survives upgrades - Should not build this by editing the standard Sales app
