Oracle Cloud to GoDaddy VPS Migration – Full Server, Websites, Applications & Storage

I am looking for an experienced Linux Server Administrator / DevOps Engineer to migrate my existing production server environment from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to a GoDaddy VPS. My current Oracle server hosts: 1 backend 1 frontend website 4 applications Associated databases, storage buckets, files, configurations, and supporting services The objective is to move the complete working environment to the new GoDaddy VPS while preserving the existing architecture, configurations, functionality, and integrations. This is a production environment, so the migration must be handled carefully, with proper backups, testing, minimal downtime, and a rollback plan. Scope of Work 1. Audit the Existing Oracle Server Before starting the migration, review the current server and identify all components that need to be transferred, including: Operating system and installed packages Apache2 configuration, virtual hosts, and reverse proxy rules PHP, Laravel, Node.js, and other runtimes or services currently in use Frontend and backend deployment configurations All four applications and their dependencies Databases, users, permissions, and connection settings Storage buckets, uploaded files, media, and associated storage integrations SSL certificates, HTTPS configurations, domains, and subdomains Environment variables and application configuration files PM2 processes, background workers, queues, cron jobs, and scheduled tasks, where applicable Firewall rules, open ports, SSH configuration, and other relevant security settings Any additional services, scripts, or dependencies required for the applications to operate correctly The freelancer must identify dependencies and existing configurations before making changes. 2. Prepare and Configure the GoDaddy VPS Set up the destination server to support the existing environment, including: Installing and configuring the required operating system packages and software versions Configuring Apache2, virtual hosts, reverse proxies, and application routing Installing compatible PHP, Node.js, database software, and other required dependencies Configuring application processes and services to start automatically after a reboot Setting up appropriate file ownership, permissions, firewall rules, and SSH security Configuring SSL certificates and HTTPS Recreating the necessary server-level settings and application integrations The goal is to reproduce the current working environment on the new server without unnecessary architectural changes. 3. Migrate All Applications, Databases, Files & Storage Transfer and configure all required resources, including: The backend and frontend website All four applications and their associated server-side components Complete databases, including data, schemas, users, permissions, and relevant settings All required uploaded files, media, and storage assets Storage buckets and their contents, permissions, access policies, and application connections, where applicable Application environment files and service configurations All relevant integrations, scheduled jobs, and background processes If any storage bucket or other resource is hosted outside the Oracle server, the freelancer must identify its location and determine how to preserve or migrate it correctly. Important: Copying the website files alone is not sufficient. The entire application environment and its dependencies must be accounted for. 4. Testing and Verification Before completing the project, thoroughly test the new environment to confirm that: The backend and frontend are operational. All four applications and their server-side integrations work correctly. Database connections and existing data are intact. Uploaded files and media load correctly. Storage buckets and application access permissions work as expected. APIs, domain routing, SSL certificates, and HTTPS work correctly. Background workers, scheduled jobs, and application processes operate correctly. No critical errors appear in application or server logs. The applications continue running after a server restart. 5. DNS Cutover and Final Migration Once the destination server has passed testing: Coordinate the DNS changes required to point the relevant domains and subdomains to GoDaddy. Minimize service interruption during the final cutover. Perform a final data synchronization where necessary to avoid losing changes made during migration. Monitor the applications after the switch. Keep the original Oracle environment available until the new server has been verified and accepted. I do not want the old environment shut down before the new environment is confirmed to be working correctly. 6. Documentation and Handover At completion, provide: A summary of the migrated services and configurations A list of software versions and running services Details of any configuration differences or outstanding issues Instructions for restarting services and performing basic server maintenance Confirmation that backups and a rollback procedure are available A short handover explaining how the migrated environment is organized Required Experience Please apply only if you have demonstrable experience with: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to VPS or cloud-server migrations GoDaddy VPS or equivalent Linux VPS administration Linux server administration and troubleshooting Apache2, virtual hosts, reverse proxies, and SSL PHP/Laravel and Node.js applications, where applicable MySQL/MariaDB or the database technology used in the existing environment Server-side application deployments and process management Cloud object storage, buckets, permissions, and file migrations Production server security, backups, DNS, and troubleshooting Experience migrating multiple applications running on a shared production server is strongly preferred. Deliverables and Acceptance Criteria The project will be considered complete when: All agreed websites, backend services, and four applications are migrated. Required databases, files, storage assets, and integrations are working. Apache and other necessary services are configured correctly. Domains, HTTPS, APIs, and application routing work as expected. All agreed functionality passes testing on the GoDaddy VPS. The freelancer provides the migration documentation and handover. The old Oracle environment can be retired only after my final approval. Any proposed changes to the existing architecture must be discussed and approved before implementation.
