Python/FastAPI Developer for API Review & Small Fix

We are looking for a Backend Developer to complete a small paid test task as part of our hiring process for ongoing development work. The task involves reviewing an existing FastAPI-based endpoint, identifying a minor issue, and implementing a clean fix. We want to evaluate coding quality, problem-solving skills, and ability to work with an existing codebase. Scope of Work: Review an existing FastAPI endpoint Fix a small bug related to request/response handling Improve validation or error handling where appropriate Verify functionality with a simple test Provide a brief explanation of the changes made Requirements: Strong Python experience Experience with FastAPI and REST APIs Understanding of backend architecture and API design Ability to quickly understand existing code What We're Evaluating: Code quality Problem-solving approach Communication Ability to work independently
