Senior Full-Stack Developer / Technical Lead — AI-Assisted Estate Planning Web App

## Project Overview I am looking for an experienced **Senior Full-Stack Developer / Technical Lead** to oversee and execute the development of a sophisticated interactive **Estate Planning Readiness Assessment app**. This will be a **production-quality web application**, not a basic quiz or WordPress form. The application will guide users through an intelligently structured estate-planning assessment, use conditional logic and a deterministic, rules-based scoring/decision engine to evaluate their responses, and provide a personalized results experience identifying areas that may warrant further estate-planning review. The application will ultimately be integrated with an existing WordPress website and will function as both a valuable user-facing planning tool and a lead-generation/conversion asset for the law firm. --- ## What We Are Building At a high level, the application will include: * Interactive estate-planning assessment * Approximately 35–45 questions, subject to final specification * Conditional branching and personalized question paths * Rules-based scoring/decision engine * Category-level assessment results * Personalized results and recommendations * Relevant estate-planning service recommendations * Consultation/contact CTAs * Optional lead capture * Email/report functionality * Analytics and conversion tracking * Administrative/configuration capabilities * Secure backend/data handling * Responsive mobile/desktop interface * Accessibility considerations * Integration with an existing WordPress website The assessment will cover areas such as wills, trusts, beneficiaries, powers of attorney, healthcare planning, minor children, assets, business ownership, and other relevant estate-planning considerations. The application will be educational in nature and will clearly distinguish automated assessment results from individualized legal advice. --- # Development Approach A major component of this project is the **intelligent use of AI-assisted software development**. My preferred development workflow is broadly: **Architecture & Specification → AI-Assisted Development → GitHub → Engineering/Refinement → Testing → WordPress Integration → Security Review → Deployment** Tools such as the following may be used: * **Lovable** for rapid application/UI development where appropriate * **Claude Code** for codebase engineering, implementation, refactoring, testing and debugging * **Replit Agent** where appropriate * **GitHub** for version control and collaboration * **React / TypeScript** * **Supabase/PostgreSQL or another appropriate backend** * **WordPress / WordPress REST API** The exact technology stack is open to discussion. I am looking for someone who understands that AI-generated code still requires experienced engineering, architectural judgment, security review, testing and production hardening. **I am not looking for someone who simply knows how to prompt an AI app builder.** --- # Your Role The selected developer will be responsible for overseeing the project from: **Architecture → Development → AI-assisted implementation → Code review/refactoring → Testing → Security → WordPress integration → Deployment → Launch** You should be comfortable taking technical ownership of the project and recommending better approaches where appropriate. The assessment's legal/content rules will be supplied and/or reviewed by the project owner and appropriate legal professionals. The developer will be responsible for implementing the approved logic accurately and securely. --- # Required / Preferred Experience Applicants should have strong experience with several of the following: ### Essential * Senior full-stack web development * React and TypeScript * JavaScript * Git/GitHub * Production application architecture * Rules engines, decision trees, assessment systems or similar applications * API development/integration * Application security * Testing and debugging * WordPress integration/development ### Strongly Preferred * Lovable * Claude Code * Replit Agent * Supabase/PostgreSQL * Custom WordPress plugin development * WordPress REST API * Automated testing * CI/CD * WCAG/accessibility * AI-assisted software development Experience building interactive assessments, recommendation engines, lead-generation applications, SaaS applications, or other rules-based applications is particularly valuable. --- # Important Technical Requirement The assessment logic must be designed as a **maintainable, deterministic, rules-based system**. Questions, conditional logic, scoring rules, result classifications and service mappings should not simply be buried throughout the frontend code. The architecture should allow the assessment methodology to evolve without requiring major redevelopment. --- # What I Want in Your Proposal Please do **not** send a generic proposal. Briefly provide: 1. **Relevant experience** — 2–4 examples of comparable applications you have built or technically led. 2. **AI development experience** — Which AI coding/application tools have you actually used in production? Please specifically mention Lovable, Claude Code, Replit Agent, or alternatives. 3. **Technical approach** — Briefly explain how you would architect a rules-based assessment application of this type. 4. **WordPress experience** — Briefly describe your experience integrating modern web applications with WordPress. **Important note about WordPress experience ** While the main site where this app is to be implemented is currently built on WP, chances are high that the website will migrate to a different technology in the near future. This will be discussed.*** 5. **AI + human workflow** — Explain how you would use AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining production-quality code, security and maintainability. 6. **Availability** — Your approximate availability and expected project duration. 7. **Budget** — Your preferred estimated project range. --- # Shortlisting Process Candidates who appear suitable will receive a **detailed private project specification** containing substantially more information about the application, including its architecture, functionality, assessment logic, user experience, technical requirements, integration requirements, testing requirements and development process. Shortlisted candidates may then be asked to provide a more detailed technical implementation plan before the project is awarded. I am looking for a developer who can become the **technical owner of the project**, not simply execute isolated coding tasks. There is potential for ongoing development and additional interactive applications after successful completion of this project.
