Senior WordPress Engineer needed

Budget Range:( $55 to $75 ) Location: United States ( Remote ) We're seeking a Senior WordPress Engineer to join a leading digital media organization and help build high-traffic consumer-facing web experiences serving millions of users. This role will focus on WordPress CMS development, React-based front-end applications, GraphQL APIs, and integrations supporting content, video, subscriptions, analytics, advertising, and mobile platforms. Responsibilities: - Develop custom WordPress themes, plugins, Gutenberg blocks, post types, taxonomies, and editorial workflows - Build modern React applications and reusable UI components - Design and optimize GraphQL schemas, queries, mutations, and resolvers - Integrate with third-party platforms including video, identity, subscriptions, analytics, search, and CDN services - Support performance, accessibility, SEO, scalability, and production reliability - Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD, troubleshooting, and release management Required Skills: - 5+ years of WordPress development experience - Strong PHP, WordPress, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and GraphQL expertise - Experience building custom themes, plugins, Gutenberg blocks, and content models - Experience with REST APIs, headless CMS architectures, and application integrations - Strong troubleshooting skills across frontend, backend, API, and caching layers Preferred Experience: - WordPress VIP - Media, publishing, streaming, newsroom, or other high-traffic consumer web platforms - Subscription, authentication, paywall, or entitlement solutions - Node.js, Docker, CI/CD, cloud platforms, Elasticsearch, analytics, CDN, or ad-tech technologies If you've built scalable content platforms using WordPress, React, and GraphQL and have experience supporting large-scale digital products, we'd love to speak with you.
