Website Migration & Maintenance Specialist

We operate BRS Backyard Bug Busters, a local service business, and a separate Shopify product business. We are bringing website management in-house for the local service business and need an experienced freelancer who communicates clearly with a nontechnical business owner. Our service website is www.tickmosquitocontrol.com. It currently uses Drupal and appears to be hosted on Pantheon. We control the domain through GoDaddy and are requesting a complete handover from our existing marketing provider. We have also prepared a static copy of the public website. This is a reference and fallback; it does not include the Drupal backend or working form delivery. Initial project: assessment and migration - Review the existing website and agency handover materials. - Recommend whether to transfer Drupal or rebuild, explaining costs, maintenance needs, and tradeoffs. - Recommend suitable business-owned hosting, including assessing GoDaddy. - Preserve existing URLs and implement redirects where necessary. - Set up and test contact forms, email delivery, spam protection, and necessary integrations. - Configure HTTPS, backups, security updates, monitoring, and a private testing environment. - Preserve or transfer business-controlled analytics and Search Console access. - Coordinate launch with minimal disruption and provide a rollback plan. - Document the setup and explain how we can make routine updates. Potential ongoing work - Website maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance improvements. - Technical and local SEO, structured data, and improvements supporting search and AI discovery. - Shopify theme updates, product-page improvements, technical SEO, and integration support. - Clear monthly reporting on completed work, issues, and recommended priorities. Working requirements All accounts, billing, source files, and documentation must remain under our business’s control. Please use individual access invitations rather than shared passwords. Obtain approval before purchases, additional charges, or major live-site changes. Please include in your proposal 1. Examples of relevant Drupal/Pantheon migrations and Shopify work. 2. Your approach if the current agency provides incomplete migration files. 3. Your price for an initial assessment and what it includes. 4. Your estimated migration timeline and pricing approach. 5. Your ongoing maintenance rates, included hours, and response times. 6. Which tasks you personally handle and which would require another specialist. We prefer a paid assessment followed by clearly defined milestones. Please do not propose a full rebuild before reviewing the existing setup.
