Data modeling builds for nonprofits

We are looking to hire a data scientist to train us on how to model our client's data to improve and enhance donor base and donation results. Regression modeling is just one type of model we are interested in. We would like to hire for team training incorporating AI and possibly AWS for processing. We have not done this, but we do manage our client's donor-bases however we are not familiar with how the modeling process works and what it entails. We are looking for direction in understanding the environment for building models.
