Hello freelancers!
We’re a digital agency hiring a full-stack developer to join our dev team full time and long term, working across frontend and backend on our (mostly) Next.js projects.
We build websites and web apps for clients, from large multilingual corporate websites (content models, CMS migrations, SEO requirements), internal and external applications to smaller interactive pieces like calculators, self-assessments and campaign components.
Our main stack is Next.js. We do occasional work on other frameworks or touching more vanilla Javascript/typescript projects. We use extensively headless CMSes so any experience there is a plus. Day to day you’d work with our tech lead and with the UX, design and SEO people on each project.
This is a mid-level role, roughly 3 to 5 years of professional experience. You're not expected to make architecture and technical decisions but we need is someone who can take a ticket or general instruction of what has to be done and complete it end to end. This means both backend and frontend work (and we're quite picky with the frontend work!) as well as testing, deployments and everything in between.
On AI use:
You are expected (and incentivized) to use AI to deliver better and faster for us and our clients. That said a few things to keep in mind:
1. Don't use AI to draft this job application. Show us who you are. We mostly read the answers to the specific questions and the more "human"/you you sound the better your prospects are.
2. When working together, even if using AI, you are still ultimately the responsible person for the work you're delivering. AI can accelerate or make your work better but it cannot ever be an excuse.
3. We expect you to add what LLMs can't (yet): judgment, taste, direction.
What we’re looking for:
- Next.js (App Router), React and TypeScript, used in production
- Backend work in Node.js: APIs, auth, databases (Postgres or MongoDB)
- Turning Figma designs into responsive, accessible frontends that actually match the design 1-1 (this is important)
- Experience with at least one headless CMS
- Good written and spoken English
- Available during CET working hours for most of the day
Nice to have: multilingual sites, SEO-related frontend work (metadata, structured data, Core Web Vitals) and experience working in an agency with several projects running at the same time.
A bit more about us:
We're a full-stack digital marketing agency acting across SEO, GEO, Analytics, Ads and yes... digital products/projects. You'd join our Web/Tech team and help us execute projects for brands that range from up and coming startups to established corporations. Most of our work is in the swiss market with swiss clients.
Before applying, please check these, as we can’t make exceptions on them:
- This is full time (40h/week) and should be your main engagement, so please don’t apply if you’d fit it around other long-term clients
- We’re hiring an individual, so no agencies please
- You'll have to go identity verification on our system and sign a separate NDA from the one baked into upWork terms
To apply, please answer our questions. We'll mostly skip reading cover letters and will fast forward reading your application if you didn't put the effort into it. We expect a lot of candidates so short, good, solid and honest answers to our questions is what will set you apart from the (potentially) other hundreds of applicants.
Good luck and we hope to work with you soon!
