Senior AI Chatbot Developer – Completion, Integration & Optimization (OpenAI / LangChain / WhatsApp)

We are looking for an experienced AI Chatbot Developer to take over, finish, and optimize an existing AI chatbot project. The core infrastructure is already started, but we need an expert to complete remaining feature implementations, resolve integration bugs, optimize response accuracy, and handle final deployment. Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work • Code Audit & Bug Fixing: Review current codebase, diagnose existing response/handling issues, clean up logic, and ensure stable performance across all client touchpoints. • Feature Completion: Finalize unfinished conversational flows, intent handling, dynamic fallback handling, and human-agent handoffs. • Knowledge Base & RAG Pipeline: Train and fine-tune the grounding pipeline (Retrieval-Augmented Generation / vector store) using approved document knowledge to minimize hallucinations. • API & Database Integration: Wire up backend REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, user database tracking, and third-party tools (e.g., CRM, authentication, external messaging APIs). • Testing & Deployment: Execute thorough edge-case testing, set up cloud deployment scripts (Docker/AWS/Vercel), and document system architecture for future maintenance. Required Technical Skills • Programming & Frameworks: Python (FastAPI / Flask) or Node.js (TypeScript / Express). • LLM & AI Orchestration: OpenAI API, Anthropic Claude, LangChain, or LlamaIndex. • Vector Databases & RAG: Pinecone, Qdrant, ChromaDB, or pgvector. • Frontend / UI (if applicable): React, Next.js, or embedded Web Chatbot Widget components. • Cloud & DevOps: AWS, Vercel, Docker containerization, CI/CD pipeline setup. • Integrations: Webhooks, RESTful APIs, JSON data structures, and third-party messaging APIs (e.g., WhatsApp Business API / Dialogflow). Preferred Qualifications • Proven track record of finishing semi-completed codebase projects. • Upwork Top Rated / Rising Talent status with verified AI/NLP client feedback. • Clear communication skills with the ability to summarize complex technical roadblocks.
