Full Stack Developer (Firebase / Firestore / Cloud Functions, vanilla JS)

Description Luxurbe is a premium tourism company based in Rome, Italy. We run guided city tours by golf cart, e-tuk, Vespa sidecar and Fiat 500, and we manage the whole operation through an internal web portal that we build ourselves: tour leader scheduling and availability, fleet GPS tracking, pick-up simulation with Google Maps, refund procedures, quotes for clients, and more. We’re looking for an experienced full stack developer to work with the founder on the next version of this portal: finishing the rebranding, migrating and improving existing pages, and building new modules. The stack (no framework, by choice) Firebase Hosting, Firestore (europe-west3), Firebase Auth with role-based access Cloud Functions on Node.js 22 Vanilla HTML / CSS / JavaScript on the frontend (no React, no Vue) Google Maps JavaScript API, Places API, GeoJSON overlays FullCalendar Integrations with Slack, Intercom, Bokun (booking API) and a GPS fleet API A Cloud Function proxying an LLM API for an in-portal assistant What you’ll work on Complete the new version of the portal (separate Firebase project, pages under public/pages/) without touching the live one Fix a known mobile login issue (Firebase signInWithRedirect “missing initial state” on Safari/Chrome) – this will likely be the first paid task New modules on the roadmap: client quotes dashboard with PDF export, vehicle assignment generator, company dashboard with Bokun integration, Slack automation bot, tour leader management replacing Telegram Write and maintain Firestore security rules for new collections Keep the codebase clean, documented and deployable (firebase.json, deploy scripts) Requirements 3+ years with Firebase in production: Firestore data modelling, security rules, Cloud Functions, Auth Strong vanilla JavaScript – you’re comfortable without a frontend framework Experience with the Google Maps platform Experience integrating third-party REST APIs (Slack, Intercom or similar) Git workflow: branches, clear commits, no direct edits on production Fluent written English; Italian is a plus, not required Available for a short call at the start of each task; otherwise async work is fine Nice to have Experience with Bokun, GetYourGuide or other tourism/booking APIs Experience working alongside AI coding tools (we use Claude Code with written specs and CLAUDE.md conventions) Experience with PDF generation in the browser or in Cloud Functions
