Full-Stack Node.js Engineer to Migrate Node.js Media App from Windows to Ubuntu

We are seeking an expert Full-Stack Node.js and Linux Systems Developer to assist in converting an existing media-processing application from a Windows 11 host environment to a hardened, standalone Ubuntu Linux environment. We require the developer to leverage Claude (e.g., Claude Code, Claude 3.5 Sonnet / Claude 3.7 Sonnet, or Anthropic API tools) as part of their development workflow to accelerate code conversion, script refactoring, and automated debugging. The target application orchestrates video recording, hardware-accelerated encoding, real-time streaming, dynamic metadata compositing, and database logging via local API integrations and WebSocket control loops. Key Responsibilities & Deliverables: • AI-Assisted Platform Migration: Utilize Claude to analyze, refactor, and rebase execution scripts, environment paths, and system dependencies from Windows 11 to Ubuntu LTS. • Media Pipeline Integration: Adapt and refine FFmpeg filter graphs, GStreamer pipelines, and OBS Studio integration/automation for Linux hardware acceleration (e.g., NVIDIA NVENC/NVDEC). • API & WebSocket Transport: Ensure low-latency WebSocket messaging and Node.js process controllers operate reliably under Linux background services/systemd. • Database & Storage Logic: Validate local MongoDB persistence, log structures, and file pathing under the Linux file system hierarchy. • Process Automation: Wrap core services into systemd units for robust auto-start, error logging, and headless execution. Qualifications: • Extensive experience using Claude AI tools for software architecture, code generation, and Linux shell/scripting workflows. • Proven track record migrating Node.js applications from Windows to Linux environments. • Deep hands-on experience with FFmpeg filter graphs, GStreamer pipelines, and OBS Studio APIs/automation. • Strong knowledge of WebSocket, systemd, ufw, and Ubuntu OS hardening. • Proficiency with MongoDB for local event and metadata storage.
