Sport Data specialist

We are seeking a Sports Data Specialist with knowledge of sports and a passion for data-driven research. This role combines sports expertise with analytical thinking to help build and enhance one of the industry’s most comprehensive sports data platforms. You will be responsible for organizing and validating multi-sport data, identifying key game and match events, and conducting in-depth analyses to uncover meaningful relationships and trends across large datasets. Your work will directly contribute to the development of our analytics products and research initiatives. Responsibilities Structure, maintain, and continuously improve our sports data platform. Analyze game and performance data to identify, classify, and validate sport-specific events and advanced metrics. Perform exploratory and statistical analyses to uncover patterns, correlations, and predictive relationships. Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across multiple sports, leagues, competitions, and seasons. Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights. Collaborate with engineering and research teams to improve data quality and develop new analytical capabilities. Requirements Knowledge of professional sports (such as American football, soccer, basketball, tennis, or other major team/individual sports), with understanding of international leagues, competitions, rules, tactics, and performance concepts. 3+ years of professional experience using Python for data analysis and data processing. Strong SQL skills with experience querying and working with large relational databases. (Required) Hands-on experience using AI tools and Generative AI workflows (e.g., LLMs, ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to optimize data analysis, coding efficiency, and problem-solving processes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets. Highly independent, self-managed, and comfortable taking ownership of projects from concept to completion. Close attention to detail and a commitment to data quality.
